How it works
From “I want to check” to a doctor-signed report, in five steps
No GP referral needed. You choose a test, give a sample at home or at a clinic, a UKAS-accredited laboratory analyses it, and a GMC-registered doctor reads every result before you see it.
- Step 1
Choose your test
Browse by area or describe what you want to understand and Max, our test finder, points you at the panels that measure it. Every product page says what is measured, who it is for and who it is not for, and what the result can and cannot tell you, before you pay.
- One price per test, no subscription
- Under-18s cannot order sensitive tests
- Step 2
Give your sample
Some tests use a home sample kit; others need collection at a clinic. Where both routes are available, you choose at checkout. Single-test totals include £5.99 Royal Mail Tracked 24 postage for a home kit or £55.00 for a clinic appointment. Each applicable charge is applied once per order, not once per test, and your basket shows the final breakdown.
- Kits arrive with instructions and what you need to send your sample back
- Clinic appointments usually take about ten minutes
- Fasting is only asked for when a panel needs it
- Step 3
The laboratory analyses it
Your sample goes to a UKAS-accredited laboratory (ISO 15189). Turnaround depends on the test and starts when the laboratory receives your sample. It ranges from about 6 hours to 25 days, and the typical time is shown on every product page.
- UKAS-accredited laboratory (ISO 15189)
- Units and reference ranges exactly as the laboratory reports them
- Every sample tracked from receipt to result
- Step 4
A doctor reviews and releases it
A GMC-registered doctor reads every result, checks and edits a plain-English note on what the results mean together, and signs the report before it is released. Nothing reaches you unreviewed. If a result needs urgent attention, the doctor is alerted straight away and will try to contact you promptly.
- Every report shows the signing doctor and GMC number
- Borderline results explained, not just flagged
- Urgent results followed up promptly by a doctor
- Step 5
Your results, explained
The report lands in your secure portal: each result with its unit and the laboratory's own reference range, the doctor's note, and what usually happens next. Results are stored so you can see how a marker changes over time, and you can download the signed report to share with your own GP.

Home kit or clinic appointment?
Both are analysed at the same laboratory. The difference is what sample a test needs. Where a test can be done either way, you choose at checkout.

Common questions
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You order directly and the reviewing doctor is part of the service. You can share the signed report with your own GP afterwards, and the report is written so that it is useful to them.
How accurate is a finger-prick sample?
For the tests we offer as home kits, we only offer a test as a home kit when the laboratory accepts a finger-prick sample for it. Tests that need a sample from a vein are clinic only, which is why not every test is available at home.
What if I cannot get enough blood?
It happens. The kit instructions cover warming your hands and choosing a finger, and if the laboratory cannot process your sample, we arrange a free repeat collection. If the second attempt also fails, we offer a clinic appointment or a refund.
Where are the clinics?
Clinic samples are taken at Wimpole Street in central London (same-day slots) and at Holly Road in West London (24 hours' notice). You choose the clinic and a time at checkout.
How will I know when results are ready?
By email, with a link to sign in. Results themselves are only ever shown in your portal, never in an email or a text message.
What happens if something is urgent?
The reviewing doctor is alerted straight away and will try to contact you promptly. The report explains what to do next.
Can I use my results with the NHS?
Yes. Download the signed report and take it to your GP. It shows the laboratory's units and reference ranges and the reviewing doctor's GMC number, which is what a GP needs to act on it.
